Carlisle firefighters were called to a road accident this afternoon, which had left the driver trapped in their car.
A crew from Carlisle east and one from Carlisle west fire stations were called out at about 3.10 this afternoon, after receiving reports of a road traffic collision between the Black Lion Pub in Durdar and Dalston.
"On arrival, crews discovered that a single vehicle had left the road and collided with a tree, and one occupant was trapped," a spokesman for Carlisle east fire station explained.
Thankfully, the driver is not believed to have suffered any serious injuries, according to the station spokesman.
However, the driver did need rescuing from the wrecked car.
"Crews extricated the casualty by removing the roof of the vehicle using hydraulic cutting equipment, and they assisted the ambulance service with casualty care," the spokesman said.
