Rheged Centre at Penrith has announced plans to reopen later in the year.
A spokesman said: "We are delighted that businesses can slowly but surely start to get back to some sort of normal from July 4, but we are going to keep Rheged in hibernation for just a little longer.
"When lockdown was imposed, we were in the middle of an exciting programme of developments.
"We had already opened a new design gallery and shop, as well as a new play area. We had started to develop our meeting spaces and are also due to start further works on our ground-floor food shop and food areas.
"That work was put on hold because of Covid-19, so we have decided to complete it over the summer and come back better in Autumn."
