POLICE have issued an appeal to reunite a stolen mower, worth at least £10,000, with its rightful owner.

West Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Unit (RPU) posted on social media website, Twitter, on Saturday to try and find the owner of a Köppl Rad Traktor and a rotary mower attachment.

In total, the equipment is worth more than £12,500.

The post said: "Have you had your Köppl Rad Traktor stolen recently?

"We are trying to locate the owners."

Köppl is a German company that develops and manufactures machines and attachments for professional use in agriculture, forestry, gardening, landscaping and municipal management.

The firm's products can be bought at dealerships right across Europe, but there is only one in the UK.

It is in the town of Colne, in Lancashire, which is near Burnley.

The exact model that police are appealing to reunite with its owner is not available on the dealership website, but those which are similar cost just above £10,000.

The exact rotary mower attachment is on the website and is priced at £2,770, taking the total of both items to roughly £12,770.

If you are the owner of the mower and attachment, you should ring 101 or use the contact options on the West Yorkshire Police website.

You should quote reference number: 206 of Tuesday, June 23.
