Carlisle's flagship museum has released a survey to understand the public’s feelings about visiting when it reopens.

New government guidelines have now confirmed that museums like Tullie House can open from this Saturday, July 4.

Ongoing restrictions and public health guidance will dictate the museum’s activity and inform some of the ways in which it will have to work.

Andrew Mackay, director of Tullie House Museum said: “We can and will offer all of our residents and visitors a great cultural experience and after months of lockdown provide a much-needed boost to wellbeing.”

Marketing manager Caitlin Olney said: “We’d really like to know how we can make people feel more safe and comfortable when they visit Tullie House.

“We’ll definitely be following all government guidelines and safety policies, but if there’s anything else we can do to make sure people can enjoy our spaces again, then we’d like to do it if possible.

"We’d also love to know when people will be ready to enjoy our fabulous events, talks and workshops again.”
