The NHS is encouraging pregnant women with Covid-19 symptoms to take part in a survey, to give a better understanding of how pregnancy is affected by the virus.

The North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is involved with the research, and is urging all those affected by the virus during their pregnancy.

Researchers are considering the history of the virus, compared with miscarriage, premature births, stillbirths, and transmission of coronavirus from mother to baby.

Although the study is being conducted, expecting mothers don't need to panic. If you are worried at all about anything during your pregnancy, contact your consultant or GP.

Anyone wishing to take part can contact research midwives Rachel Hardy (at rachel.hardy@ncic.nhs.uk) and Anna McSkeane (at anna.mcskeane@ncic.nhs.uk).

Or you can call the Trust on 01228 814697.
