POLICE arrested and charged two men for begging at a city centre junction after they had been warned by the court previously.

Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Bradford City Team spotted two males begging at the junction of Leeds Road and Shipley-Airedale Road, in Bradford, on Tuesday, June 23.

Both had been instructed by the court before to not be in that area and to not beg, according to a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson.

Police subsequently arrested the two males and charged them with offences.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "We are aware of the on-going issues with begging in and around the city centre and we work closely with our partners to reduce anti-social behaviour and to offer support to those in need."
