Plans to extend a care home's resources have been approved.
The Fairways care home, in Workington, has had its plans to extend approved by Allerdale Borough Council's planning panel this week, which will provide the property with space for 25 more bedrooms.
The home currently holds 58 bedrooms, and the new extension will comprise of a single storey building with two wings of 25 bedrooms, a central communal area and a link to the existing building.
In the officer's report for the plans, it was written: "On balance the proposals are acceptable in all respects as reported above and will provide improved and expanded facilities for elderly care in a sustainable manner."
The work must begin within the next three years, and proof of suitable drainage and sufficient parking must also be provided before building begins.
