Firefighters tackled an HGV fire on the M6 near Carlisle last night.
Crews from Carlisle east and west fire station were called out to report that an HGV was ablaze on the M6 at junction 42, on the southern edge of Carlisle.
A spokesman for Carlisle east fire station said: "Crews located the incident on the entry slip road onto the northbound carriageway at Junction 42.
"The fire involved an HGV, and 3 tyres were alight.
"Crews extinguish the blaze using one hosereel, small tools, and a battery powered saw."
