Plans to extend a temporary town-centre car park's use have been discussed at the council's first virtual planning panel.
Councillors on the borough council panel discussed plans for The Ginns car park, in Whitehaven, to remain in use for a further five years.
The site has been used by council employees and members of the public since 2015, when it was converted into a pay-and-display car park after dozens of people were already said to be using it to park for free.
The 0.22 hectare car park can hold 78 cars, including four disabled bays.
In a report prepared by the council, planners said: "This extension to the permission is required to provide sufficient parking spaces for staff working at the council.
"Overall this is considered to be an appropriate form of development."
And with no letters of objection, nor disapproval from any members of the panel, the decision was unanimously made to extend the car park's use until 2025.
