McDondald's drive-thru restaurants are re-opening today - including the Kingstown branch in Carlisle, plus Workington and Whitehaven.
The branches have been re-opened with new social distancing measures in place to ensure the safety of staff and customers.
Some of the measures that have been put in place include:
- Social distancing has been introduced in all areas to help create a safe working environment for restaurant teams.
- There will be perspex screens at drive-thru windows and employees will wear protective equipment, there will also be perspex screens and floor markings in specific areas in the restaurant and kitchen.
- All McDonald’s employees will be asked to confirm they are fit to work and contactless thermometers will be used to take employee temperatures when they begin their shifts.
- Delivery procedures with couriers will be contactless for both staff and customers
- There will be smaller teams, offering a limited menu and operating reduced hours.
- Drive-thru orders can be made and paid using the My McDonald’s App
