A HEARTBROKEN pet owner is desperate to find her missing parrot, Tonto.

Sandwith woman Katrina Bradley is asking all in the area to keep their eyes peeled for her beloved pet, after he went missing on Sunday.

Normally a house-bird, Tonto was last seen at Woodhouse and Kells, and Katrina is worried for his welfare.

"He's never got out before, he's always kept inside – he's like my baby," she said.

"He didn't want to fly away. He got scared and flew off – he'll be scared and alone."

The concerned owner last saw her pet as he was being attacked by other birds, and fears he was injured in the incident before flying away.

She is asking everyone around Whitehaven and beyond to look out for Tonto, especially in their gardens and when out on walks.

She added: "If anyone spots him, don't approach him too fast, but talk to him to keep him calm, and if possible put food and water nearby for him."

If you spot Tonto, call Katrina on 07888 969554.
