A Covid-19 support group has thanked the community for taking part in a fundraising car wash.
Area 6 Covid-19 Support Group organised a charity car wash outside Copeland Pool and Fitness Centre, raising more than £900 for a planned remembrance garden initiative.
The support group estimated that 127 cars visited the event on Monday, May 25. Organiser Yvonne Mahaffy said: “The team would like to say a huge thank you to all of the volunteers who turned up and put 100 per cent effort in.”
The support group thanked Simon Mattinson of Sizzling Simon’s, Maxine Ellerton, The Silly Goose and Sandra Chester for their food and treats which fuelled volunteers through their fundraising. Yvonne said: “A big thank-you to Amie Meloy at Slimming World, Nick Little of ASDA, Nicholas Sharma from Nisa, IMO, Morrisons, B+H Motors and TMS supplying car wash essentials.”
