POLICE are investigating a spate of arson attacks in Southampton.

It comes after a shed in Thornhill Avenue was burned to the ground.

Firefighters rushed to tackle the blaze after receiving an emergency call at around 1.30am on Saturday, May 30.

No one was reported as injured however the shed is believed to have been purposely set alight.

Posting on social media a police spokesperson said: "We are currently investigating a series of Arson incidents in the Thornhill Park area, whereby sheds and garages have been purposely set alight.

"We are also speaking with the local Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service in order to collate all the information.

"The most recent incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, May 30 at around 1.30am hours in Thornhill Avenue.
