A HOSPICE is on the look-out for volunteers to staff its shops as it stages a phased reopening after lockdown.

In accordance with Government guidelines, Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland has a plan for re-opening its shops in Carlisle, Penrith, Wigton and Keswick.

Julie Blundell, head of income generation and marketing, said “We ask for the support of Volunteers, perhaps your circumstances have changed and it now allows you the opportunity to give volunteer time?

"This can be short term or for longer if suitable, if so this would be of tremendous help.

"Are you on furlough, a student, over 16-years-old, or perhaps have more time available to help a local Charity during these challenging times?"

The shops raise funds to enable it to provide care and comfort within the home to the most vulnerable amongst the community.

It needs to raise 80 per cent of its annual running costs, about £20,000.

Information will be publicised once the phased re-opening dates of each Shop is finalised.
