Administrator, Bethan Lewis, 30 and teacher, Oliver Luke, 32 met at university in 2007.

The pair decided to settle in Cumbria after living abroad for a number of years.

The proposal arrived in 2019 when Oli popped the question when the couple were living in Bahrain in the Middle East. HE has panned to propose at sunset with a bottle of champagne, but a sandstorm scuppered his plans and he ended up proposed in their bedroom.

After moving back to Cumbria, Bethan and Oli tied the knot at All Saints Church, Orton.

Bethan walked down the aisle wearing a Boho-style dress by Pronovias bought from Fellside Brides in Kendal, borrowing a pair of her mum’s earring and wearing her grandmother’s wedding ring.

To help her get ready on the day, Bethan had Ellie Casiley, Leigh-Ann Newburn, Sara Blue, Alex Robinson and Anna Metcalfe as her bridesmaids.

They all wore modern, floor-length nav blue dresses from Rewritten.

The flower girls were Poppy and Olivia Lewis and Sara Evans.

Leonie and Bekah from Heart & Soul in Penrith helped Bethan with her hair on the day of the wedding, with Trish Holmes and Nina Brass doing the bridal party’s hair.

By Oli’s side on the big day was his best man and best friend Ben May along with Ben Luke, Paul Scandian, Adam Wallace and Richard Muncaster.

They all wore blue tweed suits from Vintage Suit Hire Company.

Huw Evans was page boy.

Flowers were supplied by Emma Greenshaw from the Fellside Flower Company and were all locally grown. The bride’s bouquet was made up of lowers that were in season.

Many of the flowers that decorated the venue were grown in the mother of the bride’s garden.

After the ceremony, a reception was help at the Eden Wedding Barn, Little Musgrave where the wedding breakfast was supplied by Fells and Dales Catering.

The bride’s mother, Menna Lewis made a three-tier cake which was displayed on a rustic piece of wood and decorated with eucalyptus.

As favours, guests were given mini-bottles of Limoncello which were called made my Menna.

The couple took to the dance floor to their first dance to George Ezra’s Paradise performed by The Lightmen - a folk trio.

The couple stayed in the Shepherd’s Cottage, at a Corner of Eden in Ravenstonedale on the night of the wedding followed by a minimoon in Yorkshire and are planning a honeymoon in South Africa.

Following the ceremony the newly-weds travelled to Sunbiggin tarn for photographs taken by Gavin Jacob Power before going on to the venue.
