A NUCLEAR services company is working with EDF Energy to “keep the lights on” during the coronavirus pandemic.
Cavendish Nuclear has brought in a number of measures to ensure its manufacturing and test facility can continue providing support to EDF, such as spares for it’s Advanced Gas-cooled Reactor fleet.
Its facility in Whetstone, Leicestershire, which provides critical support for EDF affecting generation, has brought in staggered breaks and lunches and social distancing measures as well as additional personal protective equipment and cleaning facilities.
Cavendish Nuclear also provides large-scale engineering projects at Sellafield. Manufacturing manager Matthew Dearden said: “It’s been great to see all the people in the works pulling together.”
