A local authority has announced that it’s reintroducing its bulky goods collection service.
Dumfries and Galloway Council has said that it is restarting its collection rounds from June 1 for items such as washing machines, fridges and sofas.
The service was temporarily suspended as a measure to migtigate the Covid-19 outbreak.
The council made the announcement on Facebook yesterday.
A spokesman for the council said: “We are re-introducing our bulky uplifts service from June 1.
“You can call now to make a booking.
“Please keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook feeds for info on household waste recycling centres reopening.”
Recycling centres remain closed as a coronavirus measure.
Previously a spokesman for the council said: “We had no option other than to close these facilities for everyone’s safety in line with Government guidance on social isolation.
“At this time, we advise that households should try not to produce waste that cannot be disposed of through the weekly waste collections.”
