THE RAIL firm in charge of services on the West Coast Main Line says that customers should travel only if necessary – and wear a facemask both at the station and on the train.
The advice has come from Avanti.
For journeys from Monday onwards, passengers are urged to book in advance as social distancing rules mean seats will be limited.
The firm’s infection control measures include:
n Asking for the two metre social distancing guideline to be adhered to;
n Enhancing cleaning routines on trains and at stations with a focus on: door buttons, grab handles, tables and all touch points.
n Closing first class lounges until further notice.
n Closing shops onboard Voyager services;
n And requesting contactless payments onboard trains or at stations.
