An Eden charity has refocused on delivering shopping to those most isolated by the coronavirus lockdown.
Fellrunner Buses, operated by volunteers for more than 40 years across in order to serve many of the small villages between Penrith and Carlisle, has temporarily reinvented itself as a safe shopping delivery service for those either self-isolating or unable to get themselves to the shops.
Secretary Neil Hannah said the charity has been glad to be able to provide much-needed assistance to some of the most isolated residents in the Eden area.
“People who have used the service have been immensely grateful," he said.
"They are very appreciative of the help they can get and in turn it’s a pleasure to help them.”
The service can be contacted through Cumbria County Council’s Eden Hub, Eden Council or Penrith Town Council.
