A LYCRA wearing cyclist is sought after hitting a young girl in an accident say police.
The incident happened in Appleby on Saturday about 4pm at the Colby Lane junction leading on to Scattergate.
The child was walking with her family at the time.
A spokesman for Cumbria Constabulary said: "The cyclist is reported to have stopped, but was asked to carry on by the child’s parents.
"Officers would like to speak to the cyclist who is described as being a man in his 40’s of slim build and wearing lycra clothing.
"Two other cyclists are reported to have been with the man at the time.
"Officers would also like to speak to any other witnesses to the incident."
