Higham Hall, near Cockermouth, has launched ‘Higham At Home’, to bring together information provided by its tutors for the good of everyone interested.

Higham principal George Cooke said: "Because all our tutors are freelance and therefore self-employed, they are really feeling the effects of our downtime. We felt the least we could do was to try to gather together information from tutors from all over the country who have sent us things so people can see what they are up to from one place, a page on our website that’s available to all. These are being added to all the time and include write-ups, presentations, demos from artists, even on-line lessons offered independently by some. This also offers possibilities for anyone to dig down and maybe gain some inspiration or knowledge whilst they are unable to actually go out. It seems to be the kind of thing a small college with a charitable ethos like us can do for its community. We hope people find it useful."

Highlights include video clips from embroiderer Helen McCook, artists Robert Dutton, Vicki Norman and Brian Smith and creative writing tasks from Darren Harper. The 'Higham At Home' pages are at: www.highamhall.com
