Scammers target Allerdale residents
Allerdale Council is aware of a telephone scam where callers are claiming to be from the council and saying they can change council tax banding for free.
This is a scam.
The council are asking that you do not provide your bank details or pay any money to these people.
The council is not ringing customers about changes to their council tax banding.
