As bipolar day approaches, people struggling with their mental health during the coronavirus outbreak will be offered additional online support and practical guidance to help them cope, Mental Health Minister Nadine Dorries has announced.

As the virus takes a grip the fairly common disorder, bipolar which will see one in every 100 diagnosed with it at some point in their life, will be able to access the new support.

Bipolar disorder is a mental health issue that isn’t spoken about as commonly as some others, such as anxiety and depression.

A spokesman for Mind, the mental health charity, said: “On this Bipolar Awareness Day why not share this post and be bipolar brave help end stigma and open up the channels for those conversations about mental ill-health to start.”
