We have some brilliant supporters, and one of them is Simon Bullock, who reached for the razor and removed his 10-year-old beard and raised more than £2,000 for GNAAS.
Simon is a senior paramedic in the rapid assessment treatment area at the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle and braved the shave to ensure his protective FFP3 mask fits correctly.
FFP3 masks are a key part of the personal protective equipment required where there is a suspicion or confirmation of Covid-19.
FFP3 masks work by ensuring that there is a tight seal between the face of the wearer and the mask, however facial hair can compromise the effectiveness of the seal.
We just want to say a big thank-you to Simon whose fundraising will help us continue to remain operational and be there for
those people who need us the most.
