Police were called to address a report of antisocial behaviour in Carlisle city centre this morning.

A spokesman for Cumbria Police confirmed that it received a report of antisocial behaviour concerning three people in the city centre this morning.

Officers attended and provided advice to the individuals, before moving the group on.

Cumbria Police have been reminding residents across the county of the importance of staying indoors in light of the current coronavirus outbreak.

Officers have been regularly reminding people that everyone should remain indoors, and only leave for one of the following four reasons:

● Shopping for basic necessities, for example food and medicine, which must be as infrequent as possible.

● One form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle - alone or with members of your household.

● Any medical need, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person.

● Travelling to and from work, but only where this absolutely cannot be done from home.

Police are stressing the following: "These four reasons are exceptions - even when doing these activities, you should be minimising time spent outside of the home and ensuring you are two metres apart from anyone outside of your household."
