AN APPLICATION to turn a large house with an office into a bed and breakfast has been approved.

The site at Ireby submitted an application to change the home into a three bedroom bed and breakfast to house five guests with the addition of one child.

Guests will have use of a lounge and dining room and access to a garden.

The proposed application stated they did not intent to provide this accommodation for more than 200 nights per year. Parking will be provided about 150 metres down the road.

During the application process the parish council raised no objects but were concerned about the allocated parking, referencing an issue in the village with cars parking on the pavement.

Likewise, Highways England raised no objections, with the comment that most customers would not park in an allocated site but would choose to park in close proximity to the premises.

The application was advertised on site and neighbouring properties have been notified.

No further representations have been made.

The development has been approved by Allerdale Council and must be started before the expiration of three years from the date of the permission.
