TYNEDALE Rugby Club have announced that their senior coaching team have signed up for next season.

Director of rugby Ben Woods has presided over the first XV for the past two campaigns, having joined in the summer of 2018.

Woods, and his assistant coaches Tom Wilkinson, Mark Tampin and Ben Mason, have all committed themselves to the Corbridge-based club for 2020/21.

Woods, a former England Saxons, Newcastle Falcons and Leicester Tigers flanker, said: “This season hasn’t been without its challenges on and off the pitch but we have a great group of players who we all enjoy coaching and who work hard each week to improve individually and as a collective.

“In addition, the tremendous support we receive from everyone connected with the club outside of the playing group has helped to make the decision an easy one for us all.

“Ben and Mark have both integrated really well having come into the coaching set-up a few weeks after the start of the current season .

“They’ve brought a wealth of rugby knowledge and plenty of fresh ideas with them and have contributed a huge amount to the environment so far. Its also fantastic new that Tom has agreed to coach again next season. He’s an excellent coach with really good understanding of the requirements of National League rugby which will be invaluable for us next season.”
