Members of the County Council Local Committee for Allerdale have agreed to over £36,000 of funding for youth projects across Allerdale.

Members unanimously agreed funding which will see:

£10,000 go to Cumbria Youth Alliance to fund a third year of the Emotional Resilience Project,

up to £18,000 to area planning activities to specifically benefit children and young people in Allerdale,

£3,900 go to Aspatria Dreamscheme to fund universal youth sessions,

and £4,500 committed to the Carnegie Theatre Trust to fund sessions open to all young people to introduce them to the arts

Cumbria Youth Alliance is working with Cumbria County Council and other agencies to address poor mental health issues in young people. The £10,000 will be match funded towards a £31,000 programme in the area, including youth employment, improving accessibility to opportunity, mental wellbeing and good health for life.
