CARLISLE'S Rickergate Magistrates' Court today saw a direct impact of coronavirus as a self-isolating prosecutor conducted cases remotely by Skype.
Defendants who were being prosecuted for motoring offences were given details of the charges they faced and the details of their case online after the lawyer involved told the court that he was avoiding unnecessary contact because of coronavirus fears.
Evidence was broadcast to the court via a computer screen.
