Police are investigating after footage emerged allegedly showing former Carlisle United striker Nacho Novo involved in a street fight in Scotland.

A video clip shared on Twitter shows the 40-year-old appearing to throw punches at another man.

The incident is said to have happened on a night out in East Kilbride.

The video appears to show Novo, who played for Carlisle in the 2013/14 season, walking along Hunter Sreet when he encounters another man.

After the Spanish former footballer is pushed into the street, he appears to retaliate with punches to the man, who is wearing a hood, with another man appearing to pin him to the wall.

As a second confrontation then takes place, onlookers are heard calling for "Nacho" to calm down.

East Kilbride police inspector Aidan Higgins told the East Kilbride News: "We have received no reports regarding this incident. We are making enquiries."

Novo, who made his name with Rangers, played six times for Carlisle without scoring towards the end of the 2013/14 season, which saw the Blues relegated from League One.
