A LINGERIE lingerer has been banned from a shopping centre after being caught trying on ladies’ pants in Primark.

Cumbria Police has said the young man, who’s not been named, is a prolific “anti-social behaviour offender” in Carlisle.

He has been banned from the store and The Lanes Shopping Centre for 12 months.

Police said he was handed the ban on Sunday morning, February 23.

A spokeswoman for Carlisle Police said: “It has been a pants morning for one prolific city centre offender this morning.

“The young male has been causing anti-social behaviour in Primark over the past couple of weeks hence why he has been given the ban.

“One of the incidents involved the young male trying on women’s knickers over his clothing in the store.

“This g-string of anti-social behaviour offences has consequences.”

The news comes after PCSO’s attended Carlisle Library, on Scotch Street, the day before after a gang of “several young females” were involved in causing £100 of criminal damage.

A police spokesman said: “The girls used nail glue to stick numerous items to the table.

“These girls will most likely be made to pay for a new table and banned from The Lanes Shopping Centre.”

Elsewhere in the county about 40 youths caused a disturbance at a train station prompted a swift response from police.

Officers from the British Transport Police were called out to Maryport train station on Friday night, February 7.

A spokesman for the police at the time said: "We were called out following reports of anti-social behaviour.

"However, when officers investigated they found that the station was empty."

No further details about the incident were released.

On the Cumbria Constabulary website they define anti-social behaviour as "any behaviour that is aggressive, intimidating or destructive that damages or destroys another person’s quality of life".

Examples can include, rowdy, noisy behaviour including shouting and yelling close to people’s homes, groups of teenagers hanging round the streets, paths and shops, drinking alcohol, together with vandalism and graffiti
