Students have been out and about clearing up the community at Cleator Moor.
The Lakes College youngsters were part of the Realising Our Potential Project, which is funded by Copeland Community Fund and Copeland Borough Council.
It promotes and supports people who may need additional help and guidance to help them reach their full potential.
The group out litter-picking were doing the project as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Awards, going towards the volunteering section of the award.
Cleator Moor town councillor Michael Eldon said: "The participants decided that they would like to do a number of litter picks around Copeland to give something back to the community."
The first pick saw the group go to Longlands Lake were they collected 12 bags of litter, then they moved on to Ennerdale Road, Cleator Moor, where another 25 bags and two scooters were collected.
