Carlisle's mayor is planning to "rock out" as she marks the end of her year in office with a bang.

Councillor Marilyn Bowman has organised her final mayoral fundraiser at the Tithe Barn, in Carlisle, where former recording artists from local bands Lemongrass, Junkyard Angel and Tambourine will take to the stage as The Outfit.

The band will play two sets, before guests enjoy a hot supper, raffles, auction and balloon popping.

The event, on March 21, will raise money for CFM Cash for Kids, Guide Dogs and Jigsaw.

A host of local businesses and individuals have already booked their tickets.

Prizes for the raffle and silent auction include: a box at Carlisle United for six, with lunch donated by Edinburgh Woollen Mill; a golf day for four people at Carlisle Golf Club including lunch; a Diamonfire ladies tennis bracelet donated by Jopsons Jewellers; vouchers for TK Maxx; vouchers for Boyds Hair and Beauty; a spa day for four at Rickerby Retreat; a Fender Stratocaster; flights over the Lake District and much more.

There are a few tickets still remaining at £20 for individual tickets or a table of 10 for £200. Call Racheal Peckford on 01228 817062 or email Rachael.peckford@carlisle.gov.uk to book your tickets.
