Firefighters were scrambled to reports of a fire at a log cabin at Lanercost.
At about 1am on Saturday, crews from Carlisle east and Brampton fire stations were called to reports of a property fire at a log cabin at Lanercost.
A spokesman for Carlisle east fire station said: "The incident involved smoke leaking from a log burner, and the occupants had been woken by a carbon monoxide detector sounding.
"Crews checked the scene and ventilated the property.
"The occupants were advised not to use the log burner until it can be checked by an engineer."
