VICTORY in Europe Day is set to be celebrated with a commemorative film and Allerdale Borough Council are on the look-out for a director.
“We are looking for quotations for the production of a film to commemorate VE Day 75 in Allerdale.”
The piece is set to use the stories of Allerdale residents with hopes of featuring surviving World War Two veterans as well as those who remember how the victory was celebrated in 1945.

VE Day celebrates 75 years since the end of the Second World War and will this year be celebrated on Friday, May 8.
The council’s planned documentary is one of a raft of commemorative events set for the area.
Workington Town Council has agreed to build a new war memorial in Vulcan Park, commemorating the historic event.
A special service is planned for the bank holiday in Vulcan Park.
