A man has pleaded guilty to assault.
Lindsay Dalgliesh of Pennine Way, Carlisle, has been instructed to complete 80 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months after appearing at Workington magistrates' court on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old admitted beating Ian Hitchcox at Distington on December 3.
Dalgliesh was also given a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement of 25 days, and told to pay £90 victim surcharge and £400 court costs.
