The candidates for next month’s Keswick town council by-election have been revealed.
A ballot will be held on Thursday March 12 to replace Alan Todd, who resigned his Keswick east ward seat in December 2019.
Three candidates will be vying for the seat, two independents and one Labour Party candidate.
Peter David Terry is described as an independent “local problems require local solutions” candidate.
The other independent candidate is Tim Fisher, while Jean Murray is standing for the Labour Party.
Alan Todd resigned his seat after earlier in December resigning from the Green Party, after being unhappy with its decision to form an anti-Brexit election pact with the Liberal Democrats and Plaid Cymru.
Mr Todd said at the time that the party should have instead formed an electoral pact with the Labour Party in a bid to maximise the chances of preventing a Conservative majority.
