AN alert about 40 youths causing a disturbance at a train station prompted a swift response from police.
Officers from the British Transport Police (BTP) were called out to Maryport train station last Friday night.
A spokesman from the BTP said: "We were called out on February 7 following reports of anti-social behaviour.
"However, when officers investigated they found that the station was empty.
"We encourage railway users to report any instances of anti-social behaviour to us by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 so that we can investigate."
No further details about the incident were released.
