THE latest innovation in electric vehicle technology is now available to test drive at a Cumbrian car dealer.

Peugeot’s goal when designing their newest supermini series was to create “the sexiest small hatch in the purest way”, and the all-electric e208 model truly makes this vision a reality.

The All-New Peugeot e208 takes everything that makes the petrol and diesel 208 superminis such successes, and re-engineers them into a stylish and efficient electric model – and you can test-drive one today at Dobies Cumbria.

Emma Dobie, director of the family-owned dealership, said: “With the e-208, Peugeot demonstrate that – unlike with many other manufacturers – you don’t have to choose an entirely new, unfamiliar model in order to drive an electric vehicle.

“The Peugeot 208’s outstanding innovative qualities has already been recognised by the industry, resulting in it reaching the finals of European Car of the Year 2020 – the winner of which will be announced in March.

“You’re getting everything you would get with the All-New Peugeot 208 – the same cutting-edge features and high-specs that have proven so popular with drivers. The electric model even keeps the same amount of rear seat legroom and boot space.”

Compared to Peugeot’s previous generation of superminis, the e208 and its petrol and diesel siblings are larger, lower, and wider. It’s curvaceous, distinctive profile and large, stylish grille are certain to turn heads, especially once you fire up the triple white LED headlights and daytime running light ‘fangs’.

The interior inherits the most recent design of Peugeot’s much-acclaimed ‘i-cockpit’, showcasing a 3D driver display, inductive and plug-in smartphone charging points, and central infotainment screen – available as 5-,7-, and 10-inch displays, depending on spec.

A 50kWh battery and a 100kW electric motor combine to deliver a satisfying 134hp. It also includes all the features you would expect in a modern supermini, including lane assists, speed limiter, autonomous parking, and traffic sign recognition.

The electric model boasts a range of up to 217 miles, and buyers can even take advantage of the limited time launch offer to have their own home charging point installed free of charge*, ensuring the e208 always has a full battery before leaving the house each day.

News and Star:

Buyers can also secure the largest available infotainment touchscreen – 10” – for only £200 as part of the launch offer.

Emma added: “There’s never been a better opportunity for drivers to make the switch to electric.

“The All-New e208 shows that electric can compete with diesel and petrol on their own terms, and invokes Peugeot’s characteristic spirit of pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.”
