A NUMBER of schools across the county remain closed today following the recent bad weather brought on by Storm Ciara, which badly damaged a water supply pipe.
Cumbria County Council and United Utilities have advised many schools not to open until the issue is fixed.
The schools that will be closed today are:
- Appleby Grammar School
- Appleby Primary School
- Bolton Primary School
- Brough Community Primary School, Kirkby Stephen
- Crosby Ravensworth CofE School - Due to no water in school
- Kirkby Stephen Grammar School - KSGS be closed due to maintenance work by United Utilities
- Kirkby Stephen Primary School - KSPS be closed due to maintenance work by United Utilities
- Moorland Area CofE Primary School, Penrith - Morland School is closed Because of the ongoing issues with water.
- Orton CofE School - We will remain closed on Thursday 13th Feb due to on going water supply issues and as directed by CCC. We hope to reopen on Friday 14th Feb at 8am
- Patterdale CofE School, Penrith - United Utilities and the Assistant Director of Education have advised that we remain closed until Friday as water supply cannot be relied upon.
