A popular fundraiser is making a return for Hospice at Home West Cumbria.

Last year, the KAPOW! event was held in Cockermouth and raised £30,000 for the charity.

This year it will take place at Maryport’s Netherhall Rugby Club and Netherhall Sports Centre on July 5.

Supporters are asked to come dressed as their favourite superhero and take part in the giant inflatable obstacle course. People can run, walk, hop, skip or jump between the obstacles.

All children taking part must be over 1.2m tall.

Stella Walsh, event organiser, said: “We were so pleased with the success of last year’s KAPOW! event and the great feedback that followed, that we decided to host the event again and plan to make the whole experience even bigger and better than last year.

“We are very grateful to our new venue hosts in Maryport for supporting us with the event, and hope people in West Cumbria will get behind us once again and join us for a fantastic family day out.”

There will be family entertainment throughout the day including CFM DJ Robbie Dee and MokyFit. The charity is calling on local businesses to support the event through sponsorship packages.

Tickets to enter begins at £15 adult and £8 child. Spectators’ prices start at £5 for 16 years and over, £3 for 6 to 15 year olds and free for 5 and under.

More information on pricing and tickets is available from the organisations website at www.hospiceathomewestcumbria.org or call Stella Walsh on 01900 873173.
