In 2019 our wonderful volunteers travelled a staggering 32,466 miles to help our charity.

Our volunteer coordinator, Ben McWilliams, helpfully pointed out that this is equivalent to 1.3 times around the world or one tenth of the way to the moon. It’s also equal to 450 times the length of Hadrian’s Wall.

We have been working hard to expand our group of volunteers, who travel to collect donation boxes, give talks, attend events and generally support the work of our life-saving critical care team.

This has certainly been recognised, as our overall volunteering activity totalled 3,622 hours, which equates to an additional 452 working days achieved for the charity.

We just want to say a huge heartfelt thank you to all of our amazing volunteers for their support.

If you would like to join our ground crew volunteer team, we’d love to hear from you.
