For the first time Carlisle will be able to shine as the City of Lights programme gets ready to start.

There will be a series of events to coincide with the City of Lights in which business are getting involved. The centrepiece for the first-ever City of Lights will be in Carlisle Cathedral which will display ‘The Great Exhibition – SPACE: God, the Universe and Everything,’ inspired by the 1969 Moon landings.

Created by Luxmuralis artistic collaboration, it will take people on a journey revealing the universe, galaxies, space, creation, and light through sound and light installations that will transform the Cathedral.

Encouraging people to attend, councillor Stephen Higgs, said: “The SPACE event at Carlisle Cathedral will be the first time the Luxmuralis exhibition has been staged in the North and will be a spectacular and unmissable experience.
