A man who ignored a traffic officer's direction near Sellafield has been slapped with a four-figure bill by magistrates.
Craig Hunter, 36, of Casson Road, Workington, was yesterday found guilty of neglecting or refusing to proceed in or keep to a line of traffic, when directed to do so.
West Cumbria Magistrates Court heard that on May 22 last year, Hunter was driving a Vauxhall Insignia at 8am on the Main Gate approach road to Sellafield.
Magistrates were told he failed to follow the direction of a constable engaged in the regulation of traffic.
Hunter was handed a bill totalling £1,431, made up of a £738 fine, plus £620 costs and a £73 victim surcharge.
He also had his driving licence endorsed with three points.
