CARLISLE City Council and The Dogs Trust are collaborating to host a free microchipping event for dogs.

The event, which will take place between 11am and 3pm at St Barnabas Church, Brookside, Carlisle, will provide dog owners with the chance to get their pet microchipped for no charge.

There will also be a free basic health check and advice clinic providing pointers on dog ownership on offer.

All breeds of dogs are welcome, whether a pub or an adult, however, The Dogs Trust will not chip active hunting hounds or litters of puppies.

They ask that puppies under six month old are fully vaccinated and proof of vaccinations are brought along to the event.

No appointment is required and they operate on a drop-in basis, keep your dog on a lead when attending the community event.
