One of Carlisle’s community centres is to receive an extension, should plans for the work be approved.
A planning application has been submitted to Carlisle City Council to request permission to start building works to extend part of Botcherby Community Centre.
The plans request permission for a “single storey extension to provide additional space for the children’s soft play area”.
Submitted by Botcherby Community Centre’s board of governors, the plans also request permission to extend the raised external patio area and enlarge the entrance lobby.
The extension will not change the current number of parking spaces at Botcherby Community Centre - 19 bays and and two disability parking bays.
The proposed extension will add 37 square metres to the community centre, bringing the total internal floorspace in the community centre to some 680 square metres.
