A woman was left in fear her car window would be smashed by an Arlecdon man, a court heard.

Jamie David Nicholson, 24, of Arlecdon Road appeared before West Cumbria Magistrates Court charged with criminal damage and threatening behaviour.

He indicated pleas of guilty to both charges on Monday.

Magistrates heard on January 19 he damaged a front and rear door, to the value of £200 at Whitehaven.

And he also threatened a woman that he would smash her rear car window, leaving her fearful he would carry out the threat.

Nicholson was fined a total of £349 and ordered to pay compensation of £200. He also has to pay £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.
