The University of Cumbria has ranked third in the north for students looking to start or manage their own business.
A study of 9.5 million students has revealed that the University of Cumbria is one of the top universities for future business leaders.
It also revealed that one in eight students goes on to start or manage their own business and is ranked 25th in the study overall.
Professor Julie Mennell, the vice-chancellor at the University of Cumbria, said: “In Cumbria and the broader region we have significant higher-level skills needs and lower than national-average productivity levels to address.
“Graduates with the know-how and confidence to run and start up their own businesses are helping to bridge this gap.”
The study was conducted by the Hitachi Capital Invoice Finance.
