AN RAF crew performed a heroic rescue of a casualty who had fallen on the ridge of Helvellyn.
RAF Leeming's mountain rescue team were called out to Striding Edge on Saturday night to rescue a casualty who fell on a ridge and suffered lower back injuries.
The patient was stabilised and airlifted to hospital.
RAF Leeming Group Captain, Blythe Crawford tweeted: "A huge well done to the RAF Leeming Moutain Rescue Team."
