Cumbria County Council has confirmed that a closed bridge has now been reopened.
Longtown Bridge was closed on Thursday after a crash caused significant damage to the structure.
The bridge - which crosses the A7 - is a key route between Carlisle and the Scottish border.
A stone bridge parapet was damaged after a car reportedly collided with it.
The crash came just a few months after part of the bridge collapsed into a Longtown family’s garden next to the structure.
A spokesman for Cumbria County Council said: "Longtown Bridge has now reopened. We thank everyone for their patience while we carried out essential repairs."
